Fairness in the Courthouse - Safety in the Community

Reintegration Court/E.N.D./Felony Drug Court

As an assistant district attorney, Chad helped develop Fort Bend County's Expedited Narcotics Docket that quickly moves low level narcotics defendants into customized treatment plans instead of adding to existing court dockets.  Chad assembled the research, helped draft the direct file order for the docket and garnered the unanimous support of the Board of District Judges for this innovation.  Chad also wrote the grant for expedited qualitative analysis of seized narcotics so that cases could be resolved with accuracy and quickness.  As Judge of the 458th, Chad now leads this treatment court.  Judge Bridges also presides over Fort Bend County's Felony Drug Treatment Court.

Domestic Violence High Risk Team

As a Chief of the Family Violence Division at the Fort Bend County DA's Office, Chad wrote the initial grant for Fort Bend County's Domestic Violence High Risk Team.  The High Risk Team matches expedited services to victims of interpersonal violence.  Chad helped train law enforcement on how to indentify high risk domestic violence victims.

Community Outreach

As a Chief Prosecutor, Chad has helped organize the D.A. Fun Run and D.A. Ride for Survivors events.  These events have resulted in nearly $70,000 in grants for local non-profits like Child Advocates of Fort Bend, Fort Bend Women's Center, Daya, Katy Christian Ministries and AVDA. Also, Chad assisted with creating the Expose Excellence Youth Program Foundation.  The Expose Excellence Youth Program helps Fort Bend County's children discover a better world within our community and stay out of the criminal justice system.
